Student Project

No More Dark Patterns

Project Introduction

How would a web without Dark UX Patterns look like? Daniela Vogel searched for answers and proposed a convincing solution: A browser plug-in. In this project, she layouts a detailed concept of how a browser plugin could detect and (depending on the user settings) negate malicious UX patterns and other deceptive elements.

From fake timers to tricky wording and wrong price comparisons – users get informed about and supported with navigating all of these patterns and much more. Moreover, it has the potential to evolve constantly: As a user, you are able to flag elements as deceptive to add them to the database. The only thing left now is a team to build this. Get in touch if this sounds like you!
